Tip of the hat

A 4.6 metre (15ft) statue of a Viking sporting a mortarboard hat as a salute to the difficult covid 19 graduation year in Gimli Manitoba. Created as a Canadian centennial project the statue was designed by Gissur Eliasson of the University of Manitoba, and was constructed by sculptor George Barone. It was unveiled in 1967 by then-President of Iceland Asgeir Asgeirsson. Lyle Stafford/Image
