The High Line is a 1.45-mile (2.33 km)-long elevated linear park, greenway and rail trail created on a former New York Central Railroad spur on the west side of Manhattan in New York City. Each year, close to five million people visit the walkway, which is lined with trees, grasses and shrubs and has become a site for artistic commissions, events and activities ranging from concerts to meditation.
